Event honors girl who loved butterflies

The event celebrates the start of summer and the life of Yukta Garg, a 6-year-old girl who was killed in a car accident in front of the center in July 2006. In her honor, the family and others are working to build a playground at Countryside Park, behind the rec center. Recreation Supervisor Linda Madden said Yukta loved butterflies and two butterfly pods will be part of the playground. The rec center and the Garg family are raising funds for the pods.
