Sanjeevani Rocks Dayton

July 14, 2007 saw the favorite performer Sanjeevani take on the Dayton audience. The show was organized by the Yukta Garg Memorial Foundation. 8 pm saw a 500 plus crowd of music lovers throng the Auditorium, dressed in Indian ethnic dresses.

The concert started with the auspicious Allah Tero Naam Bhajan and few more devotional songs. Then began the roller-coaster ride of Hindi film hits from yesteryears. Starting from a 1946 "Jawan Hain Mohobbat" and "Saiyyan Dil Mein Ana Re", Sanjeevani and her co-singer Shivprasad had the audience in raptures. EVERY song received a loud applause from the cheerful audience. Whether it was Madhuban Mein Radhika, Tu Ganga Ki Mouj, Ayega Anewala, Barsaat Mein or the recent Chand Sifarish from Fanaa or Sanjivani's own Nikamma Kiya; the audience just couldn't have enough. Then came the surprise part when ace performer Sanjeevani invited everyone to dance on latest hit songs like Kajara Re, Beedi Jalaile Le, Khaike Paan Banaras Wala and similar other catchy tunes.. Goodness gracious! There were people from every age group in a riot of energy at the dance! But that was not all. Second half of the show saw not only many more song performances from past as well as present era but also the songs in English (couple of Meera Bhajans translated and composed by herself), Gujarati - "Tari Bankire Paghaldi", Marathi, Bengali and Telugu. What an evening it was! The whole audience was simply mesmerized by the sheer life that Sanjeevani's charisma and voice breathed into the performance. Spell-bound they left the auditorium after 4 hours chanting "Vande Mataram" and "Ae Mere Vatan Ke Logo" carrying Sanjeevani's voice home in their hearts. This sure was a concert that Dayton will remember for years to come.
